✨ Good Body Pilates StudioA New Year’s Eve Reflection — 2025 ✨
/As we close out this year, we keep coming back to one simple truth:
Pilates is more than movement.
It’s how we show up for ourselves and for each other.
This year asked a lot of all of us. And again and again, this community met the moment with care, resilience, humor, strength, and heart.
January: When It All Began
The year opened with the Palisades and Altadena fires, reminding us how fragile and how powerful community can be.
Here’s how you showed up:
✨ Donation drives for evacuees
✨ Amazon Wish Lists + monetary donations to Santa MoniCARES
✨ Complimentary group reformer classes for evacuees and first responders
✨ Temporary teaching space for displaced Pilates instructors
✨ Coming together at Lights of Hope at the Santa Monica Pier
Movement became grounding. The studio became a place to breathe, connect, and begin again.
What We Built Together This Year
Because this community doesn’t just show up on the reformer, we show up everywhere.
*Featured in The LA Girl as a favorite Pilates studio in Los Angeles
*Voted Santa Monica’s Most Loved Pilates Studio (2nd year in a row!)
*Voted Pico Blvd’s Most Loved Business
•Awarded the Sustainable Quality Award for Excellence in Economic Development
*We welcomed new instructors (hi Kylie and Lisa 👋), celebrated milestones (Sarah’s one-year anniversary!), and honored the roots of our studio with Frances, who’s been with us since the beginning.
We took Pilates out into the world:
*Venice Love Fest
*Wellness & Waves at the Santa Monica Pier
*MOVE Santa Monica with City Shred
*Bike Month + Bike to Work Day
*City Wide Orange Balloon Sale
*Purpose in Motion: Jamaica rebuild fundraiser
We collaborated with neighbors and brands we love:
Sweet Laurel Bakery • Dermalogica • Ener-Life •
We celebrated Pride Month, Latino Heritage Month, and what it truly means to move through the world with inclusion and intention.
We raised funds for:
*Take Up Space (supporting women battling breast cancer)
*Border Angels (Move with the Mayor fundraiser)
We hosted:
*A 6-week Mat Pilates workshop with the Women’s Residential Program at Clare Matrix
And somehow between all of it, we still found time to laugh, sweat, shake, and move with intention😌.
The Real Work Happens Between the Exercises
This year, Pilates met people exactly where they were.
We worked with clients who:
Became pregnant, had babies, and returned to movement
Navigated cancer diagnoses and survivorship
Lost homes, partners, parents, and beloved pets
Managed menopause, osteoporosis, arthritis, autoimmune disease, asthma
Recovered from surgeries, injuries, and brain aneurysms
Trained for marathons, cycling races, dance careers, and life itself
Sent kids to school, graduated, and off to college
Welcomed new grandchildren and wanted to keep up with them
Started over after divorce or heartbreak
Ages 25 to 98.
Artists, business owners, entrepreneurs, parents, grandparents, athletes, and everyday movers.
We laughed.
We cried.
We raged.
And we kept moving together.
Good Body Pilates is more than a studio.
It’s a home base for living fully strong, supported, and connected.
Here’s to movement with meaning.
Here’s to community.
Here’s to another year of showing up together.
Looking Ahead to 2026
As we step into the new year, we’re feeling deeply energized by what’s ahead. 2026 already holds new ideas, expanded ways to serve our community, and thoughtful growth rooted in the same care, integrity, and attention to detail that guide everything we do.
We’re excited to continue refining the experience in the studio, deepening our work with you, and creating even more opportunities for meaningful movement and connection both inside and beyond these walls.
Thank you for trusting us, growing with us, and being part of what’s next.
We can’t wait to move into 2026 together. ✨
With gratitude,
Jackie + the Good Body Pilates Team
